Geomembranes

Geomembranes

Geomembranes, which are often referred to as geomembrane liners,  are impermeable membranes used in conjunction with rocks or earth to block fluid migration in man-made structures. These membranes are usually made of synthetic polymers in sheets ranging from 0.25 to 3.5 mm thick. Geomembranes are made of various materials such as EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer), Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), and Polypropylene (PP).  Due to their ability to block fluids, they can help to prevent the dispersal of contaminants and may be used with soil liners or permeable geotextiles to create a composite lining system that provides added security.

Titan uses geomembranes in an effort to minimize the effect of human development on the environment. They are especially important for waste containment. Our products are manufactured from highly durable materials, often with an expected lifetime of hundreds of years. They are resistant to chemicals and wear so that the passage of time and corrosion does not affect the integrity of the geomembrane liner. Each type of geomembrane material has specific characteristics which affect installation procedures, lifespan, and performance. Titan offers a variety of materials based on the specific needs of your project.

HDPE

HDPE liners are resistant to many different solvents and are the most widely used geomembrane liner in the world.

LLDPE

Manufactured from virgin polyethylene resins, offering great flexibility and outstanding resistance to low temperature and ultraviolet exposure.

PVC

A highly flexible thermoplastic waterproofing geomembrane manufactured from a mixture of vinyl compounds, plasticizers, and stabilizers.

Woven Coated RPE

Titan’s woven coated geomembrane is a medium to heavy weight polyethylene (PE) with a coating designed to improve toughness and abrasion resistance.

RPP

RPP geomembrane (Reinforced Polypropylene) is a polyester reinforced material that is designed for water containment applications.

EPDM

EPDM geomembrane liner is an unreinforced, highly flexible material that is incredibly durable. With a soft rubber-like feel, similar to an inner tube.

XR Reinforced Geomembranes

XR liners consist of an ethylene interpolymer alloy reinforced woven synthetic fabric, and they are the strongest, most durable geomembranes available.

Bituminous Geomembrane

Bituminous Geomembrane (BGM liner) is a specialty geomembrane with composite layers that make it stronger, more watertight, and more durable than resin based geomembranes.

Geosynthetic Clay Liners

High-performance geocomposites used as an alternative to conventional compacted clay liners. GCLs consist of two layers of geotextile stitched together enclosing a layer of processed sodium bentonite.

Leak Location Liner

High-performance geomembranes with a co-extruded, electrically conductive bottom layer. This layer makes it possible to detect leaks on wrinkles and other non-conductive surfaces, and it allows the liner to be retested as often as necessary.
