Road Overtopping – Cable Concrete
Who: Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation (MIT)
What: Cable Concrete, an advanced articulate concrete block system for erosion protection, was selected by Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation (MIT) for a location in Brandon requiring a superior erosion control solution. The project involved installing a total of 2,000 m2 GC2 Cable Concrete mats as a road overtopping protective layer along PTH 1A – 1st Street on the northeast side of the new PTH 1A CPR bridge, an area where the Assiniboine River bank commonly overflows during the spring causing water to be pushed over the road and eroding the ditch.
Why Titan: We introduced a unique product as a solution to this environmental challenge while providing value for money with attractive pricing and on-site installation service and expertise.
