Geosynthetics

Geosynthetics are defined as synthetic products, typically polymer based, used to solve geotechnical, environmental, and civil engineering problems.

There are a few different product categories within the geosynthetics family. Titan carries many of these products, including; geotextiles, geogrids, geomembranes, geosynthetic clay liners (GCL), geocells, geocomposites and geosynthetic cementitious composite mats (GCCMs).

The composition of geosynthetics makes them durable materials, and highly resistant to chemical degradation and damage from the elements. Because of this, geosynthetic products can be used for in-ground or exposed applications.

Each type of geosynthetic product serves a unique function or purpose. These products are used in a broad range of sectors from civil infrastructure to mining, oil and gas to agriculture, and water and waste management to name a few. Typically, geosynthetics are found in the construction of common infrastructure such as parking lots, site works, roads, railroads, waste landfills, wastewater lagoons and ponds, reservoirs, dams, channels, slopes and embankments, bridge abutments, and earthen retaining wall structures.
