Water Control Gates

Water control gates work to control water flow and drainage in desired locations. Titan offers two types, a Flap Gate and a Canal Gate. Both are designed to be mounted to headwalls, corrugated steel pipe or concrete pipe however they operate slightly differently and serve unique purposes.

Flap Gates are used in situations where flow is only in one direction.  The gate operates with flow pressure so it automatically opens with water pressure from the back of the gate flap and closes with water pressure on the face.  It allows for free flow drainage while also sealing and preventing backflow. Flap gates are ideal for reservoirs; basins, waste lines, pump stands or storm drain systems.

Canal Gates are used in either canal and pipeline systems that operate at low and medium heads, or if moderate pressure cut-off is needed where there is moderate seating or low unseating flow pressure. The gate opening is adjusted manually to set allowable flow as desired. It is ideal for water treatment plants, flood control projects, irrigation canals and diversion stands.

These gates are built-to-last and provide years of reliable performance.

Flap Gate

Features:

  • Automatic—flap operates with flow pressure.
  • Available in galvanized steel or cast iron frame and cover.
  • Comes in a variety of sizes with flatback or spigotback frame for various installations.
  • Built in safety bar to prevent sticking.
  • Available with galvanized steel angle, stainless steel or brass links and bolts.
  • Steel assembly hardware.
  • Cast iron gate has optional bonze seating face, taper settings collars and pipe adapters.

Benefits:

  • Free outflow and sealing against back flow.
  • Maintenance free operation.
  • Can be mounted on headwalls, corrugated steel pipe or concrete pipe.

Canal Gate

Features:

  • Operates with manual “easy-grip” handwheel that adjusts allowable flow.
  • Cast iron frame and cover.
  • Adjustable side wedges.
  • Comes in a variety of sizes with flatback or spigotback frame for various installations.
  • Optional rising and non-rising stem extensions and bronze seats.
  • Available in two different models for specific installations:
    • C-20
For moderate pressure cut-off needs where there is moderate seating or low unseating pressures.
Ideal for treatment plants, flood control projects, irrigation canals and diversion stands.
    • C-10
For canal and pipeline systems that operate at low heads where a moderately priced gate is preferred.
Ideal for farm turnouts, control of industrial wastes, drainage and tide control

Benefits:

  • Can be mounted on headwalls, corrugated steel pipe or concrete pipe.
  • Select design variations can be made to match existing equipment requirements.
